Wapping Community Church (South Windsor, CT) is seeking a part-time Church School Coordinator. Responsibilities include organization and coordination of the Wapping Community Church weekly church school program and other early childhood and elementary children's programs for ages birth through 8th grade.
The candidate should possess excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills as well as a passion for the faith development of the children ages birth through 8th grade. The ability to work closely with the Christian Education board is a must. A minimum of two years experience working with children in this age group is required, either professionally or in volunteer capacity. Outstanding candidates will possess post-secondary training in elementary education, but candidates with a high school diploma and demonstrated strengths in organization and work with children birth through 8th grade will also be considered.
This is a part-time position -- 1040 hours/year with peak and non-peak times as directed by the Christian Education Board. The candidate must pass a background check and be approved by the Christian Education committee. This position is expected to last 12 months with an opportunity to be extended to a permanent position.
