Come to Pre-meeting Orientation

For the second year in a row, special Pre-Meeting Orientation sessions have been planned, to help you go over the agenda, discuss the issues coming before us this year and learn how to make a motion, or write an amendment.

Because you asked for it, meetings are being held this year on weeknights instead of weekends and one has been scheduled during the day. We set them up early enough for you to make your plans now to attend an event in September.

Wednesday, September 22, from 10am to noon

at the United Church Center, 125 Sherman St., Hartford

From I-84 east or westbound, take exit 46 (Sisson & Farmington Avenues); at the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Sisson Avenue. At the second light, turn left onto Farmington Avenue. Take the FIRST right onto Girard Avenue (there's a Shell Station on the corner). Just before the first stop sign, turn right into our parking lot (there's a UCC sign). The United Church Center is a 2-story brick building, facing Sherman Street.

Wednesday, September 22, from 7 to 9 pm

at the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, Division Street

From Route 8 North, take exit 26 and at the end of the exit, go straight ("jog" right) under the highway. At the next light, take a left onto Maple Street. At the second light, take a right onto Church Street, and an immediate left on Divsion Street. The church and driveway will be on your right.

From Route 8 South, take exit 27 and take a right at the light. At the second light, take a right onto Church Street, and an immediate left on Divsion Street. The church and driveway will be on your right.

Thursday, September 30, from 7 to 9 pm

at the First Church, Middletown

From Route 9 Southbound, take the second Middletown light and exit to the right. From Route 9 Northbound, take the first Middletown light and exit to the left. (from here on, the directions are the same) Go one block to Main Street, turn left, go one block to Court Street. Turn right, the church is on your right.

From Route 66 Westbound, cross the river on the Portland Bridge (the street becomes Main Street). Continue on Main Street to Court Street (corner where Liberty Bank is located). Turn right onto Court Street; the church is on your right.

From Route 66 Eastbound, follow Route 66 east (Washington Street) to Main Street. Turn right (where Route 66 goes left); go one block and turn right on Court Street, The church is on your right.

Parkng: The parking lot is on Court Street, just to the left of the church; park also in the lot next to the church.
