Empty spaces in worship? Thin budget? Aging membership? Too few pledging units?
Feeling like you don’t have any options? Not sure which way to turn?
Crossroads is a ministry of the Connecticut Conference that seeks to engage congregations who are wondering what their future holds and how to connect with their unique purpose and mission in the Church that Jesus called into being. Instead of trying the same things over and over and expecting different results, consider entering into an intentional season of assessment and discernment. Discover the particular gifts and opportunities in your ministry setting!
An assessment, discernment, and decision-making program which will help local churches understand their setting, consider their options, and choose their direction. The New Beginnings service, a program of UCC partner the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), helps local churches answer the question, “What is God calling your congregation to do and be in this time and place?” There is a fee for the New Beginnings program.

Pastors and lay leaders engaged in the Crossroads process of discernment and decision will be invited to meet with each other for mutual support, creative engagement, and spiritual inspiration.
After a church has decided its direction, consultants will be available for ongoing coaching assistance as the congregation takes steps along the path it has chosen. There is a fee for coaching services.
Thanks to a major gift from First United Church of Christ in Bridgeport, the Connecticut Conference is able to offer up to 50% of New Beginnings and Coaching costs to Crossroads participants.
